A Typical Day at Camp Chickami

  • Morning Assembly You have got to experience this once! With songs and creative skits run by the staff, the campers prepare themselves for the exciting day ahead. Counselors perform “commercials” to inform the campers of the choices offered in the afternoon.

  • Morning Activities Campers stick with their group and counselors for the morning schedule. They will participate in activities such as drama, arts & crafts, nature, swim lessons, new games, archery, challenge course team building, kickball, four-square, relevio, basketball ... and much more.

  • Lunchtime Campers and counselors eat lunch with their groups. This is a time to relax for a bit, enjoy packed lunches, and bond with new and old friends. During lunch, campers sign up for their afternoon activities.

  • Afternoon Activities Camp Chickami afternoons mean camper choices! Campers get to choose what they want to do for three periods in the afternoon - every day! This gives campers the opportunity to try out new activities and discover what they truly love. (The Pines, our youngest group of campers, stay with their groups and counselors for afternoon free choice.)

  • Afternoon Assembly What better way to finish off the day? The entire camp shares highlights from the day. Campers are dismissed with a smile and a song. Camp Chickami songs are very catchy, don’t be surprised if you hear your campers sing them at home!

  • Special Events Once a session, we hold a camp-wide special event. It’s a surprise for the campers, and the staff works really hard to plan out every last detail of our special events so that the campers get a new suprise every session. Theme-based activities run all day long on special event days.

  • Overnights Each session, we offer an overnight experience to a specific group of campers.  Campers get to continue the fun into the evening after a pizza dinner and an evening swim in the pool. Sleeping bags are layed out on the main building floor for a good night’s sleep!
