Ways to Donate
The Y is a diverse organization of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of community.
Your gift to our Y will have an enduring, meaningful impact right here in your own community, and you can pick the way you wish to support us that best meets your giving objectives.
Annual Fund
Funds raised through our Annual Fund campaign provide financial support to families in need and create new and wonderful programs. Our programs and services educate and nurture the young, the old and everyone in between. We help children grow, keep our seniors healthy, social and active and create an unshakable family bond. Recent donations were used to:
-
send kids to our safe, nurturing and FUN Y summer camps such as Camp Chickami, Camp Frank A. Day, Camp Pikati or Camp Polliwog for the entire summer,
-
offer assistance to military families on active duty or unemployed recent veterans so they can use our facilities to stay healthy and meet supportive friends,
-
provide quality programs for our seniors on limited fixed income so they can be social and active!
None of this would be possible without your support. We invite you to join our Giving Team by investing in our Annual Fund campaign today!

Advance the Legacy
The Advance the Legacy capital campaign seeks to raise $1.3 million to support the expansion and upgrade of our family-focused facilities. Donations fund the new, multi-focus Youth Community Center at the YMCA's 276 Church Street facility as well as other improvements and complete a $15 million, twelve-year investment to bring our aging facilities into the 21st Century. Recent improvements supported by this important effort include:
-
A new, multi-focus Youth Community Center with music clubhouse, computer/technology & homework room and recreational center
-
New men's locker room with whirlpool, sauna and steam room
-
New family locker room
-
New private changing rooms
-
Dance and yoga studio as well as multipurpose program space

Special Events
The Y hosts a number of special events throughout the year that are aimed at attracting people to our organization. These events give you the chance to support the Y’s good works in the community while enjoying a fun activity such as our annual Children’s Charity Golf Tournament, Angino Family Road Race & Family Field Day, or the Y for Kids Gala, to name a few.
Your support as a participant, sponsor, advertiser, auction donor or contributor to these events makes a meaningful difference in the life of a child and in a family, and our untiring efforts to improve the lives of those in need. For example, funds raised from our 9th Annual Children’s Charity Golf Tournament being held July 16, 2012 at Woodland GC, will send 50 children of military families to one of our summer camps for free!
These events also provide you with a chance to volunteer your time, talent and expertise and to feel good about giving back to the community where you live, work and raise a family.
For more information about the Y’s special events, contact Jennifer Parad at (617) 244-6050 x3099.
Heritage Club
The Heritage Club is composed of individuals from all backgrounds, communities and walks of life who have made an outright or planned gift to the West Suburban YMCA’s endowment fund. The Heritage Club was established to help provide for long-range financial stability of our organization. By either making a gift now or notifying us when you make a planned gift, you will be able to receive the benefits of membership and encourage other friends of our Y to consider making their own current or future gift to the endowment. There are a number of ways for your gift to qualify you as a member of the Heritage Club:
-
A gift through your will
-
A life insurance gift
-
A gift made through a charitable trust or annuity
-
A gift made through your IRA
These gifts will ensure that this Y continues to be a vital community service organization during the 21st century and beyond. As a member of the Heritage Club, you are creating a promising today and a brighter tomorrow for kids, families and communities. That is the mission of the West Suburban YMCA Heritage Club: so the good you do lives on forever.
