5th Annual Children's Charity Golf Tournament
Fore the Kids!
The rain held out-for most of the afternoon-on June 17th when we hosted our 5th Annual Children's Charity Golf Tournament at Blackstone National Golf Club. Overall, it was a great day and our most successful tournament yet!
We raised over $125,000 to help us tear down the 50-year-old infirmary and build a new Health & Wellness Center at Camp Frank A. Day, our resident camp in East Brookfield, MA. The new center will help us to unite the health-care staff, campers, parents, and camp counselors in a holistic approach to health services. We will have more private areas for the camp nurses to tend to the medical needs of our campers, and we plan to add multipurpose space for teaching an array of health and enrichment courses.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and 124 golfers we are that much closer to our goal of moving the health program from a support service to an integral part of the camp by creating a facility that can combine health care, education, wellness, and learning.
Our Annual Children's Charity Golf Tournament has developed into our most successful special event. In just five years, we have raised over $525,000 to build, create, and revitalize programs for our YMCA kids!
