The Legacy Campaign for Youth & Family
We Invite You to Become a Part of
The Legacy Campaign for Youth & Family
After years of planning and dreaming, the West Suburban YMCA has entered the final phase of its $3.5 million Legacy Campaign. With the New Balance Track & Field now complete, this phase focuses on raising the funds necessary to renovate the basement of the Y's 98-year-old, 276 Church Street facility. These proposed improvements include:
- A new, multi-focus Youth Community Center with music clubhouse, computer/technology & homework room and recreational center
- New men's locker room with whirlpool, sauna, steam room, and showers
- New boy's locker room with showers
- Expanded family changing rooms
- Additional multipurpose program space
Contributions also will allow us to tear down the infirmary at our 91-year-old resident camp, Camp Frank A. Day and replace it with a new Health & Wellness Center. This Center will help us to unite camp healthcare staff, campers, parents, and camp counselors in a holistic approach to health services. Our goal is to move the camp health program from a support services to an integral part of the program itself by creating a facility that can combine healthcare, education, wellness, and learning. The Center will include additional space and an improved environment for ailing campers and nursing staff as well as new educational and fitness areas.
