We're Sending Kids to Camp!

We're Sending Kids to Camp!

On June 25, we hosted an award ceremony for 20 lucky boys and girls who qualified to attend Camp Frank A. Day for two weeks based on their financial need and an essay contest conducted by Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids, the foundation started by the Red Sox first baseman. Thanks to our Partners with Youth campaign, we are able to provide these wonderful, young students with an opportunity to attend Camp Frank A. Day where they will spend two glorious weeks learning to swim, water ski, play sports, canoe, and make lifelong friends.

With 52 acres of countryside and over 1,000 feet of shoreline on the beautiful Lake Quacumquasit, Camp Frank A. Day has served boys and girls ages seven to 15 years old for over 90 years. Other facilities include camper cabins, dining hall, climbing wall, an arts and crafts center, basketball and tennis courts, athletic fields, and much more.

The recipients of the West Suburban YMCA scholarships were Rennae Allen, Ronald Allen, Jr., Jammy Montina Alphonse, Moassia Yasmine Bede, Wabissa Bede, Nicholas Condon, Corey Dolan, Nathaniel Etienne, Malik Goncalves, Marquis Goncalves, Shavonne Gravstock, Joseph Hines Jr., Jared King, Michael Labonte, Tyler Lobonte, Brandon Lewis, Michael Lopez, Cobi Molina, Joseph Molina, and Carlos Monales.
