New Sport Specific Workout Offered at
the West Suburban YMCA
The West Suburban YMCA will host Functional Performance, a new and unique intensive sport specific workout. Designed to prepare athletes for the summer and fall sports seasons, this program will teach participants how to maximize their on-the-field performance, improve sport specific movements, increase power, strength, and speed under the instruction of a certified and knowledgeable strength and conditioning coach.
Workouts will be held throughout the summer beginning Monday, June 23. Athletes will spend 45 minutes per session improving strength and power in the Y's Fitness and Wellness Center with free weights and machines and 45 minutes per session will be spent on increasing speed and agility on the New Balance Track & Field.
Three sessions are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, Mondays and Thursdays from 7:15 to 8:45 pm, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:00 to 8:30 am.
