Meet the Coaches

Behind every great swimmer is a great coach! Meet the West Suburban YMCA Blue Waves Swim Team staff.

Christina Pansini Rose - Head Coach

Christina began as an assistant coach of the Blue Waves in 2005, and became the Head Coach in 2008.  Christina participated in YMCA and USA Swimming since the age of 10 and has competed at the National Level of YMCA Swimming.  A graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, she competed at NCAA Division I, holds top times at the University, and was an All American Swimmer.  Christinan is also a USA Certified Coach and working towards obtaining ASCA Level III Certification.

 

Matt Hockridge - Asst. Head Coach

This is Matt's second year coaching the Blue Waves. He has swam in YMCA, USS, and high school leagues growing up and has just graduated in May 2008 from Bentley College where he swam on the varsity team. He is currently working at Deloitte Consulting in Boston.

 

Nicole Petrous - Asst. Age Group Coach

This is Nicole's first year coaching the Blue Waves Swim Team.  She swam for the Beverly YMCA, her high school team, and her college at SUNY New Paltz.  She currently works as a Speech-Language Pathologist at United Cerebral Palsy in Watertown.
