Personal Training
The West Suburban YMCA is committed to ensuring that our members receive the highest quality of training available. All our trainers are certified by nationally recognized associations.
Whatever your fitness and wellness goal, our certified personal trainers will educate, guide and motivate you to achieve the results you're seeking! The YMCA is offering several personal training packages to help you find a program that is right for you. All personal training programs are scheduled at your convenience with the personal trainer.
Please note: All personal training sessions are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Personal Training for Children and Teens
The West Suburban YMCA offers Personal Training for children and teenagers. We believe that learning proper exercise technique, establishing healthy nutritional habits and being exposed to a wide variety of activity at a young age will lead to a healthier adult.
The YMCA specializes in working with youth who have a variety of concerns:
- In-activity
- Learning disabilities
- Low self-esteem
- Injury rehabilitation
- Low muscle tone
Did you know?
1. Strength training is safe for children! - No research has found detrimental effects to children involved in Strength Training.
2. Weight Training raises self esteem – One study involving untrained adolescent girls noted improvements in self-efficacy and general self esteem following a twelve week resistance training program.
3. Bone density – There is evidence that suggest resistance training may be an effective stimulus for bone mineralization.
4. Blood lipids – Resistance training programs have found to have a favorable influence on the blood lipid profile of prepubescents.
Personal Training packages for children and teenagers:
Individual Personal Training – One on one training with a certified trainer. All sessions are geared towards your child’s individual needs.
Group Training – Sign up to workout with a trainer in a small group setting (5 maximum).
Complete Make-Over – A three month program that teaches your child proper workout and nutritional habits. This program is geared towards in-active children and/or weight loss.
Personal Training for Adults
The West Suburban YMCA offers a multitude of training options to meet the needs of our members and community.
Personal Training packages for adults:
Get Started Program – Spend three sessions with a Personal Trainer who will design a twice a week, one month program for you.
Individual Personal Training - Work one on one with a trainer to achieve your goal.
Personal Training for those with Medical Concerns – Do you suffer from low back pain? Are you having a hip or knee replacement? Recovering from a serious illness? Work one on one with a Master Trainer to improve your quality of life.
Complete Make-Over - A three month program that teaches your child proper workout and nutritional habits. This program is geared towards in-active children and/or weight loss.
