Information for Staff

 

To apply for a position, please complete the staff application on the right.  (Returning staff must also complete the full application, because there have been new sections added since last year.)  To be considered in the second round of hiring, please submit your application no later than March 1st. 

Majority of the staff positions work June 20 - August 7, 2010.  Certain positions may be able to work additional days/weeks up through August 27, 2010.

The following are the senior administrative positions that are currently open:

  • Program Director (see full description in PDF on the right)
  • Unit Director (see full description in PDF on the right)
  • Camp Nurse will help tend to the health care needs of all campers and staff. Must be licensed as a RN, LPN, PA, Paramedic, or EMT in MA and be at least 21 years old.
  • Secretary will manage the camp office, including handling phones calls, camper paperwork and visitors. Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Transportation Coordinator is responsible for Logan Airport pick-ups/drop-offs, running camp errands and safely transporting campers to/from the off-site golf and horseback riding programs.  Must have a clean driving record and at least 6 years driving experience.

The following positions are the counselor positions we are currently accepting applications for: 

We will hire a limited number of junior counselors, those who are 17 years old and have not graduated high school; they are eligible to apply for only the positions indicated by the *.

  • Water Safety Instructors will teach swim lessons, lifeguard and work on the waterfront.  Must have a current LGT certification and be at least 18 years old.
  • Lifeguards* will ensure campers and staff are safe while on the waterfront and will assist with teaching swim lessons and leading some land activities.  Must be at least 17 years old.
  • Kayak/Canoe Instructor will plan, organize and lead the kayaking and canoeing program.  Must have a current LGT certification and be at least 18 years old.
  • Sailing Instructor will plan, organize and lead the sailing program.
  • Waterskiing Instructors will organize and teach waterskiing.  Must be trained and comfortable driving ski boats, have a current LGT certification and be at least 21 years old.
  • Fishing/Snorkeling Instructor will lead the fishing and snorkeling programs.  Must have a current LGT certification and be at least 18 years old.
  • Climbing Wall Instructors will belay campers, teach climbing and rappelling as well as lead teambuilding activities.  Prior training is helpful, but not required as we offer on-site training.  Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Archery Instructors will plan, organize and lead the archery program.  Must have a basic archery instructor certification and be at least 18 years old.
  • Arts Program Counselors* must be able to plan and teach two or more of the following: arts & crafts, drama, dance, music, cooking and/or camp newspaper.  Must be at least 17 years old.
  • Athletics Program Counselors* must be able to teach two or more of the following: basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, tennis and/or street hockey. Must be at least 17 years old.
  • Adventure Camp Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and leading adventure camp from August 8-14, 2010.  Involves teaching wilderness skills and arranging for off-site adventure activities.
