For Youth Development
At the Y, we recognize that successful youth development requires a holistic approach focused on achieving certain social-emotional, cognitive and physical milestones. Youth need positive adult and peer role models, and they need to feel physically and emotionally safe to thrive. We put caring people in children’s lives and nurture them along their journey to adulthood, so they can become active, thriving and contributing members of society.
Kids' Corner
Kids’ Corner is a free member benefit for West Suburban YMCA Household Members, which allows drop-in childcare for children between the ages of 2 years and 11 years old while you work out at the Y.
Preschool Center for Youth Development
The West Suburban YMCA's Preschool Center for Youth Development is an EEC Licensed program that offers children between the ages of 2 years 9 months ‒ 5 years a warm, welcoming environment to learn and grow.
Out of School Time (OST)
Out of School Time (OST) is the West Suburban YMCA's afterschool program for children in grades K-8. OST offers a dynamic and well-rounded program that provides time for academic support, physical activities and games, free swim, and enrichment and more.
School Vacation Programs
School's out, fun is in! Bring your kids to the Y for school holidays and vacation weeks! We offer 2 options for vacation programs: A traditional mix of fun activities run by our Out of School Time staff and an action-packed, sports-centric program run by the Y's Sports Department.
Kid's Night Out
We offer monthly Kid's Night Out programs. Bring your children (grades K-8) for a fun night with your Y friends.
Teen Center
The Teen Center at the West Suburban YMCA offers a safe space for teens to connect with the YMCA community. Located in the basement-level Recreation Room, the Teen Center offers weekly programs as well as special events that are designed specifically for our youth members between the ages of 13-17.
